I started this blog after realizing I was forgetting some of the experiences felt during our travels. Was I going to remember names of sights I visited or the foods I ate during my travels? These are stories I want to be able to relive over and over.
Ever feel that way? I am wondering if this is now the time to seriously put "pen to paper" and write our story. Originally written just for me and my memory, I think it's time to share how a special needs family can live "Outside the box."
Flying airplanes, looking for alligators, and more water fun!
I can't even begin to explain how random life can be. But this picture should pretty much explain it all! Talk about a lucky find!
While I was getting a little girl time with my friend, Jen, Scott drove the boys to the airport where there was an event going on. This even included FREE flying around the island! Eli got to sit in the front seat AND FLY THE PLANE!!
How fun to be able to fly around the island. You could see everything, the people, the pools, the historic fort. It was super cool.
Both Eli and Enzo got to log their flying hours and each got a certificate for the day! What a day!
Well, in all honesty, we have a lot of great days! We try and make it to the beach as much as possible.
On days when the beach isn't something we want to do, we then hop into the pool at our complex!
Still, there is so much to do around here, like cheer on our family friends at a local competition. These kiddos are seriously the sweetest, nicest kiddos you'll ever meet! But don't mess with them! They are S-T-R-O-N-G! It was so much fun watching them with their "all in" attitude as they faced off against other competitors and completed each workout they faced!
In fact, the whole family is an inspiration! Mom and Dad, Jaime and Craig, are the owners of CrossFit Fernandina. If you're ever nearby, drop in and check out the gym. It's more than just a gym, it's a community of friends too!

Nope, we didn't find any alligators, but the beach was fun!
By the time June rolled in, we had finally found a place to call home and signed a lease. Yes, that means, we are going to be here for a while! Seriously, we can't complain. I mean, we have sun, fun, pool and beach and a ton of places to check out.
We are going to start another list of places to visit by car (we have to wait for Enzo to get tubes in his ears before he is cleared to fly again). Feel free to chime in on places to see and things to do!
Let me first begin with we are all okay. Enzo is at Wolfson's Children's Hospital and is under amazing care. He has a severely inflamed pancreas and duodenum. Okay...let's start back at the beginning......where we landed in Eleuthera Bahamas from Nassau, Bahamas. Every time we travel to a new country we have a routine and once of the things we have to do is make sure Enzo's medication is readily available. However, it took us a while to realize the Bahamas does not have Enzo's meds in liquid form. So we knew we had to end our trip earlier than expected. We made the most of our stay in the Bahamas - enjoying the people, the climate and the water~ Leaving the Bahamas was easy. Flights, car rentals, accommodations were quickly found. I told Scott I felt that God was telling us something and that we had to head back to the states early and via Jacksonville, FL. Scott keeps reminding me just how big God is! Let me explain....meet Ryan Silverman, the leading-man theatre voice at the moment! He sang a the Holiday Pops at the Jacksonville Symphony. With a background performing all over the world and even in movies and tv shows, Ryan was the show-stopper at the Jacksonville Symphony. And how cool that Scott and Eli got to go?!?!? Scott and Eli were invited to go with Nonna to the symphony this past Friday after Nonna found out a friend wasn't going and was offering her tickets up to anyone else who might want to go. It was my turn to stay behind with Enzo at the hospital. It was time for Scott to enjoy some holiday fun! Nonna blessed Scott and Eli with the tickets and it was a day the two will never forget. It's Cliché but true - Culture Shock is a thing! It's been 10 days since I last posted and WHY? I know it's cliché but oh so true. After a year abroad, living a lifestyle completely different than most, we can officially say we are in CULTURE SHOCK! What's the difference? The international locations were explored did not require a vehicle. We were able to walk everywhere, the grocery store, the pool, the beaches and lots of restaurants. Walkability and less car-focused. Is that a phrase? You see, no matter where we are now in the states, we have to drive. We need a car AND I am driving for more than 5 minutes anywhere. It seriously feels like everything is at least 20-30 minutes away! It's just baffling how much time our family is spending in the car even though we are not even on a road trip! We have gone from walking 15K-20K steps a day to barely hitting 5K-10K steps a day. We drive to get groceries, we drive to go to the library, we drive to follow-
