A Jamaican Wedding that we will never forget!

Kellie and Mike had an incredible destination wedding that will never be forgotten - EVER!  And we got to experience it with their friends.  I can't even begin to tell you how amazing it was to spend a week in Jamaica celebrating their love!
Let's start with the fact that this is the first time we got back on a plane since December 2nd, 2023 when Enzo was sent via ambulance to the ER at Wolfson Children's Hospital to spend 84 days fixing his GI.  This kiddo was so ready to sit next to the window and watch the world go by.
With his ever growing desire to become a pilot, Eli was invited into the cockpit to check out the real controls of the plane - much cooler than his flight training apps for sure!
Southwest Airlines has some of the nicest people running the show!  These pilots were a blast and as we waited for people from connecting flights I couldn't resist joining Eli in the cockpit!
We headed towards the western area of Jamaica to Negril Tree House Resort.  We threw our bags into our ocean view villa and ran straight to the ocean to spend the final moments of daylight in the warm waters of the Caribbean!
There is no better reward to travel than to listen to the serene sounds of the ocean swishing as the setting sun turns the sky into a one-of-a-kind kaleidoscope of colors that can't even be described into words but must be experienced.

Huge understatement!  Shoes were optional and life was too easy!  Warm weather, bright sunshine and no cars.  I was in my happy place.
If you don't know Kellie, you should!  Kellie knows how to live life to the fullest and the fact that she had so many friends come to Jamaica to celebrate with her just goes to show how many lives she has touched with her massive love for life and friends!

Kellie was my Maid of Honor at our wedding in 2003 and she hasn't changed a bit with her zest for life and constant quest for adventure!
Kellie made personalized goody bags for every room and she even included these fun donut floaties for the kids!  They were a big hit!
As much as Enzo loves being in the pool, the ocean was calling his name and he complied!  With or without the donut float, Enzo spent a large chunk of his time in the ocean.  Both boys returned to our room at the end of the day wrinkled like a raisin and smiling from ear to ear!
The next day we went down the beach to Margaritaville to enjoy their drinks and food!
One of Kellie's good friends made these custom tropical shirts with Kellie and Mike's halloween costumes from last year where Kellie was Stevie Nicks and Mike was Ozzie.  Hilarious!
Not only did we enjoy the Margaritaville resort - Mike won the chugging contest.  ha ha ha!

After lunch at Margaritaville, Kellie planned a booze cruise on a catamaran named "Tortuga" and we were all ready to hop on and cruise!
The crew members were a blast playing really fun music, entertaining everyone and serving up drinks on the spot.  However there was one rule that we all had to comply with and that was the wearing of life vests, but not like you normally wear one so that you could snorkel.  Britney owned up to her vest rule.
If this picture doesn't explain how much fun we had, I don't know what will!  Everyone was dancing, even the boys!  The DJ even had Kellie and Mike do the final dance from the movie "Dirty Dancing!"

If you're curious, check out the DJ's Instagram.  His handle is "Chocolate Thunder!"  Christine was dubbed "White Lightning" after the DJ realized she could hang with his moves!
Our second snorkel stop had some really neat places to explore.  The caves were massive and the water was so clear.
The snorkel trip lasted about 4 hours which allowed us to see a lot of sites from the water.  What a great way for all of us friends to get back together and celebrate.
Wedding day came and you couldn't have asked for a better day!  Didn't Kellie look amazing?!
We were ready to celebrate!  Check out the handsome shirts Eli picked for the wedding!

It was a beautiful wedding on the beach.  I don't have many personal pics because I did put my phone down, not only to listen to the personalized vows but also to wipe my tears of joy.
This is one of my favorite photos from the day.  Being a part of Kellie's day meant a lot to us and our hearts overflowed with so much joy!

The reception was a blast!  Too many photos and videos to share but I have to share that I got to dance with Eli and that totally made my night! (Yes, we were all barefoot!  That's how we roll in Jamaica!)
The next day included an excursion to Rick's Cafe where there was food, drinks and cliff jumping.
Kellie's friends definitely know how to have a good time and live life to its fullest!
Both Eli and Scott graduated from the smaller cliff, to the middle cliff and eventually to the highest cliff!  Click on the picture and watch the jump!

I have way more photos from our trip to Jamaica and made a Shutterfly album.  If you want to see the album, click here to see the album, then click on the album and then full screen. I put it together with more photos from our trip. It's worth a peek for sure!

It was great getting back out there and traveling.  We always meet amazing people while traveling and it's so fun to share stories. Although there is no way to express our love for travel and meeting new people we hope this blog continues to grow with more stories of travel and the neat people we meet.
