PICC line has been removed!

The PICC line has been removed.  Enzo is 100% on his own for providing his own nutrition!  This means we have a caloric intake goal and we are trying to get Enzo to reach it without any setbacks before he is discharged!   Without his PICC line, Enzo is no longer tethered to a rolling machine of lines providing food and hydration.  This means he can venture easily, outside and inside.  Enzo is even taking the stairs and enjoying every step of his newfound freedom!   Due to having been here for so long, Enzo does get a little tired, but those moments are short lived.  He is ready to go! In the meantime, on the outside, Eli is enjoying all sorts of fun by going to the symphony with Nonna and her friends.  There were four singers celebrating the MUSIC OF KNIGHTS - Sir, Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.  We met two of the four in person has we headed outside the venue.  After the symphony, we bumped into America's Got Talent, Campbell Walker Fields.  WOW - ju

Rumor has it.....

Rumor has it that Enzo will be off his IV nutrition (TPN) Sunday night!  His body is tolerating the amount of formula he is consuming!  This is a big deal.  His GI system is working, his body is returning to normal and Enzo is a happy boy!   In the meantime, we are doing our best while we are here!  We are really catching up with our reading!  Eli has done amazing finishing 4 books since we arrived back in the states.  Scott and I have finished double and are enjoying flipping pages of a book (we had to resort to audiobooks while traveling for obvious reasons - minimalism).  For Valentine's week we had some visitors come to the Ronald McDonald House.  We're constantly being blessed by all the volunteers who cook and entertain the kiddos.  This little kiddo next to Eli is Hemrich, one of many children that come through the RMH for proton therapy for brain cancer.  He's one of the coolest kids we have ever met!  Oh and he helps Eli practice his French (they're from Montre

Enzo progresses!! (No discharge date just yet)

It's so fun to see Enzo so happy!  He's gotten lots of visits from friends and family and he is in good spirits!   Enzo even got a signed book from our very own Cousin Sharon, who wrote the cutest little book called "Lula's Big Lollip Lie!"   We are having way more ups now than downs and it's all because of Papa!  Boy he is so observant!  Having been here watching Enzo's every mood, reaction to everything, Papa Bear has walked alongside the medical team, and has even made his own recommendations!  Teamwork makes the dream work! It's so nice to enjoy seeing Enzo come back to life!  If you haven't seen Playing with Fire with John Cena and Keegan-Michael Key, then you might not get this video.  Still, it's super cute! Eli keeps busy keeping Nonna busy.  HA ha ha.   He is such a good brother, always ready to help Enzo learn a new game on his iPad or just helping Papa out.  Meanwhile, Eli still loves playing BINGO every Thursday at the Ronald McDo
