Loro Parque - a unique zoo experience worth the time!

We've been to Siam Park - Thai themed water park that is a must see in Tenerife.  In order to get the best deal, you can buy tickets for both Siam Park and it's sister attraction, Loro Parque for a discounted rate.  Again, Thai themed!  So fun! It's such a "must see" attraction that even Michael Jackson was there, why shouldn't we?  Ha ha, who knew he went there anyways?  But hey, there's the picture and proof!  I wonder if he was a big deal in Tenerife like in the states.  Hmm Deemed as one of the best modern zoos in the world, this little plot of land has quite the diversity in personalities and is neatly laid out.  The first show we attended was the dolphin show.  There is no doubt that people who run this park are passionate about the wellbeing of every animal at this park - especially the marine life!  Enzo could not stop staring at the show!  The dolphins really put on a great jumping show. We ALL enjoyed the show!  What a great way to start the day!

Best Waterpark in the World! Siam Park!

With all the advertisements and billboards posted all over the island of Tenerife, you can't help but be attracted to Siam Park, one of the world's best waterparks!  We just had to go check it out for ourselves...after all, everyone and I mean everyone says it's a must see while on Tenerife. Naturally since we came at the height of summer season we knew to wait until the end of summer.  And for good reason!  Let's just start with the fact that the water is heated!  25°C is what I want!   When you first enter the park the sea lions are freely swimming around welcoming you into their playground.  No, there is no show, they just swim and have fun and we can watch them either overhead or through the large glass window fence. Full disclosure - WE WENT TWICE!  I'll explain after I explain what a great time we had!  Just look at how clear the water is!  The place is huge! We went to both the kiddie wave pool and the adult wave pool.  However, we arrived at the adult wave p

Dollar Wine!!!

Okay, so maybe the wine isn't exactly a buck...but can you beat these prices?  It's unbelievable how inexpensive wine is here.  If there is a yellow or orange tag, the wine is on sale (or promociĆ³n) and the shelf is empty.  Who can resist?  And YES!  It tastes good! What else?  The price of a case of eggs is just under 4 euros, hummus is almost 1 euro and bread is also hovering around the 2 euros price.  Chicken, fish, meats....all are much less than in the states (as of this post) but cheese is EXPENSIVE! Finally, we have to mention gas.  It's not cheap either. As of this writing it is about 1.30 euros per liter, it's no wonder walkability and public transportation is so good here. Yes, the public transportation is really amazing costing nothing for residents and hardly anything for visitors.  So each place we go we find a new routine.  What is life really like?  Some people think we are on a constant vacation.  Maybe?   We used to live in Key West, Florida.  Now that
